About us

We are gameXcite GmbH and have been developing various games based on well-known brands such as Asterix & Obelix and Star Trek since 2016 – from mobile to PC, from free to play to premium.

 

Job description

For our current project – a premium PC/console game based on the Star Trek license – we are literally setting off for the stars and are therefore looking for a motivated intern to help us for at least 3 months, possibly even longer, in the area of ​​game design – to boldly go where no man has gone before!

A wide variety of tasks await you, such as the conception of attractive game content, the associated creation and maintenance of extensive game design documents, as well as the optimization and creation of game mechanisms in close cooperation and consultation with the entire game development team.

Last but not least, you will also take part in intensive testing and balancing processes to ensure the fun and quality of existing and new game content.

Requirements

  • A strong interest in Star Trek is required, especially Star Trek Voyager
  • You have already watched “Star Trek Voyager”
  • You love games and are interested in the work behind the scenes
  • You already have experience in game design or a similar focus
  • You are an enrolled student in a relevant course of study OR have completed a degree OR have completed training in a relevant field of work
  • You are proficient in using Google products such as Google Docs, Sheets, etc.
  • You have a good understanding of PC and console games
  • You have a good sense of what players enjoy and what players want
  • You have a mathematical understanding of game mechanics and their interrelationships
  • You have experience in balancing or similar areas
  • You are reliable, committed and resilient
  • You are well organized, learn quickly and have good communication skills
  • You are a team player who can handle constructive feedback well
  • You are results-oriented and have a passion for games
  • Good communication skills (both oral and written) in English
